About Tayton Crutsinger
Tayton Crutsinger is a multi-talented musician, teacher, and craftsman from Fort Worth, Texas. He began his musical journey at the age of five, studying classical guitar, and later expanded his interests in sixth grade when he joined his school band as a trombonist. Throughout high school, he developed a deep passion for the trombone, which ultimately led him to pursue a degree in Music Performance at Baylor University in 2022. Since beginning his studies, Tayton has performed with several distinguished large ensembles and chamber groups, including the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, Baylor Campus Orchestra, Baylor Wind Ensemble, Baylor Symphonic Band, Baylor University Trombone Choir, Onward Brass, and the BearBones Trombone Quartet.
In addition to his work as a performer, Tayton has established himself as a skilled craftsman, particularly in brass instrument repair. Beginning in 2022, he quickly developed a reputation within his community for high-quality work and reliable service. Through dedication to his craft, he has earned the trust of his peers and has had the opportunity to collaborate closely with professional musicians and Baylor School of Music faculty, providing exceptional care and maintenance for all brass instruments.
As a teacher, Tayton is an emerging presence in his community. Gaining his initial teaching experience at Baylor University, he has been recognized for his patient and thoughtful approach. His teaching emphasizes clear, informed instruction tailored to students of all ages and skill levels, fostering both technical growth and a lasting appreciation for music.
